Voter ID

Voter Authority Certificate (VAC)

In order to vote at future elections all voters that vote at a polling station will require ID before being allowed to vote. The accepted forms of ID can be found on the Electoral Commission website.

Those voting by proxy will also need to bring ID and if the appointed proxy is voting on behalf of the elector they will require ID for themselves and not the elector for whom they are voting on behalf of.

Those without any form of ID will be able to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC) online. Those without internet access can make a paper application available from our offices which we can also post out as well.

Please also note that if you have one of the accepted forms of ID but it is expired you will still be able to use this so long as this is still a true likeness of yourself.
