Rochford District Council can now confirm that their new Chairman for the period May 2023 to May 2024 will be Councillor Jack Lawmon
Currently a District Councillor for the Wheatley ward, Councillor Jack Lawmon has been a member of Rochford District Council since 2014, where he took a brief break in 2016 and returned back as a councillor in 2021.
On learning of his appointment, Councillor Lawmon said: “ I am honoured to have been chosen to serve as the Chairman of Rochford District Council for the 2023/24 Civic Year. I can't wait to go out into the community and meet as many residents and businesses as I can while representing the district".
Councillor Lawmon will be supported during his Civic Year by Trinity Ward member Councillor Sarah Page, who was appointed as Vice Chairman of the Council for the same period.
The appointments were made during Rochford District Council’s meeting of Annual Council on Tuesday, May 23rd.
