Housing Associations

Registered Providers include Housing Associations who are registered with the Homes Community Agency.  Registered Providers own/manage a variety of homes in the District including; general needs accommodation, shared ownership, housing for older people, disabled adapted properties, sheltered accommodation and supported housing.

Registered Providers are responsible for the management of their properties and deal with issues including:

  • Estate management
  • Leaseholder information
  • Neighbour disputes
  • Rent
  • Rental of garages
  • Repairs and maintenance
  • Sheltered housing
  • Tenancy enquiries
  • Tenant and Resident Associations

Tenancy Strategy

The Localism Act 2011 requires each local authority to produce a Tenancy Strategy. This strategy helps the council set out the matters to which the Registered Providers of social housing should have regard to, when putting together their policies relating to tenancies.
