Recycling Banks

The following materials can be recycled at the recycling banks located around the District:

  • textiles
  • paper
  • plastic bottles
  • tins and cans
  • glass bottles and jars
  • food and drink cartons

Please note: plastic bottles, tins and cans and food and drink cartons are now recycled together in the same bank.

Household batteries

These can be recycled at Council Office reception areas in:

  • South Street, Rochford
  • Civic Suite, Rayleigh and

and

  • local supermarkets
  • at all libraries and most schools

Small electrical items

We are now able to collect small electrical items from the following four libraries.

Rochford
Rayleigh
Hullbridge
Hockley

Great Wakering is unable to take part due to lack of space.

A small wheeled bin has been placed in each of these libraries for a trial period over Christmas.

Listed below are some of the items that can be recycled, they need to be small enough to fit inside a small wheeled bin and must not be left on the floor at the libraries or left outside if the library is closed.
