The Mill Arts & Events Centre will reopen to the public on Monday 1 September, following a temporary closure to allow essential health and safety improvement works and structural enhancements to take place that could not be undertaken while the building was operational.
Over the past two months, the Centre has undergone a series of upgrades designed to enhance fire safety integrity of the building, further securing the facilities longevity, along with structural enhancements in preparation for further sustainability and environmental enhancements in the near future.
The closure was scheduled during a quieter period to minimise disruption to regular hirers, and the team at The Mill has continued to support bookings throughout by helping users find alternative venues. The Council would like to thank all hirers and visitors for their patience and cooperation during this time.
Cllr Daniel Efde, Chair of the Economic Development, Regeneration and Tourism Committee at Rochford District Council, said: “The Mill Arts & Events Centre continues to be a vital cultural and community asset for our district. These latest improvements not only support our environmental goals but also strengthen the Centre’s role as a vibrant, multi-purpose venue. We’re committed to ensuring its long-term sustainability and relevance for future generations. I’d like to thank our dedicated staff and all our hirers and visitors for their patience and support throughout the improvement works.”
The Council looks forward to welcoming everyone back to The Mill.
