In a bid to support shoppers shop local this Christmas, Rochford District Council will be providing free parking in it's pay and display car parks on four Saturdays in December.
On Saturday 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd of December, shoppers will have the opportunity to enjoy the convenience of free parking throughout the day in all of the Council's car parks. This initiative aims to encourage residents and visitors to take advantage of the vibrant local shopping areas during the festive season.
Councillor Vilma Wilson, Lead member for Public Spaces & Assets of Rochford District Council’s Joint Administration said: "The Christmas period can be a busy time for everyone, by providing free parking on these four Saturdays in December, we want to support our local businesses and make it easier for people to shop local, meet up with friends or celebrate the festive season with their loved ones."
PLEASE NOTE - The relaxation in charges applies solely to the Council’s car parks – on street parking controls will continue to apply.
