Rochford residents can group together for a chance to access free expert support to lower energy bills, create local renewable energy projects and tackle fuel poverty - thanks to a new partnership between Rochford District Council, Essex County Council and Community Energy Pathways.
This exciting opportunity gives people the tools and guidance they need to start or grow community energy projects. From installing solar panels, improve home energy efficiency, or helping neighbours struggling with heating costs, support is available to help turn your ideas into real impact.
Community Energy Pathways mentors are on hand to provide expert support at every stage of the journey. Whether helping established groups scale up their impact or guiding individuals taking their first steps, mentors offer tailored advice and practical solutions. With their expertise, communities are empowered to transform ideas into sustainable actions.
Councillor Roger Constable, Chair of the Environment and Climate Change Committee at Rochford District Council, said, "This initiative is about giving residents the power to shape a better future for their communities. Community-led solutions are driving real, lasting change such as lowering energy bills for families to cutting carbon emissions across District. If you are part of a group, have an idea you'd like to explore, or just want to get involved but don't know where to start, this initiative is here to help you take that next step.”
The scheme welcomes both established groups and individuals looking to form new ones. If you want to be part of the community energy movement, let us know about your interest or project by completing the short form at: www.rochford.gov.uk/EnergyPathway
