Join us at our Primary Care Committee meeting in public

 

NHS Castle Point and Rochford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS Southend CCG will be holding their next Primary Care Co-Commissioning meeting in common on Wednesday 11 September 2019 at 1.00pm at Audley Mills Education Centre, 57 Eastwood Road, Rayleigh SS6 7JF.

This meeting will be held in public. Members of the public are invited to attend.

Senior Safety Roadshow

 

Rochford District Council the Castle Point and Rochford Community Safety Partnership are inviting older residents in the district to a special free event aimed at giving advice on staying safe and healthy.

If you or you have relatives who are 55+ and live in the Rochford District area and want to find out more from experts in community safety and wellbeing then this is an event that can’t be missed.

The event opens at 10 am and runs through to 1 pm on Monday 2nd September 2019.  

Rochford Life Skills and Boxing Programme

 

Essex Youth Service are working in partnership with Noo Yu CIC and have commissioned a free ASDAN accredited life skills and boxing programme run once a week in the Rochford area for young people age 13-19yrs old. 10 week of 90 mins Life Skills and Boxing Programme which provides participants with valuable life lessons such as respect, self-discipline, commitment, emotion regulation, willingness to learn and a real feeling of self-worth using boxing as the method of delivery.

Dancercise Zumba for the visually impaired

 

Dancercise Zumba classes are for the visually impaired (sighted people are also welcome). The classes are fun and are geared to give a social aspect to fitness and friendship.

Should you feel able to come along and assist a blind partner, it would be a big help.

The classes are on Tuesdays from 2pm for an hour (excluding school holidays). The venue is the Balmoral Community Centre, Salisbury Avenue, Westcliff-on-Sea SS0 7UA.

Free NHS event for nurses to celebrate General Practice Nursing

 

A free event to celebrate the role of the General Practice Nurse throughout Mid and South Essex is taking place at Stock Brook Country Club Banqueting Suite, Billericay, on Sunday, June 2.  

The event is specifically for practice nurses, however if you are a student nurse keen to join general practice post qualifying, or a health care assistant keen to undertake nurse training or a return to practice candidate, please email Melanie.Lamb@nhs.net for more information.

Sport for Confidence - Seated Exercise for Carers

 

Sport for Confidence have recently launched new exercise classes for carers of all ages. You don’t need to live in Southend to take part.

They have their sessions on Mondays from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Leigh Community Centre, 71-73 Elm Road, Leigh-on-Sea, SS9 1SP, and costs only £2.00 per session

Carers can be any age; have disabilities themselves; be paid carers; care for family members; or have cared for someone who has now passed. Everyone is welcome.

Virtual Dementia Tour

 

In support of Dementia Action Week next week, the Virtual Dementia Tour will be in Websters Way Car Park in Rayleigh on Wednesday 22nd May from 9am – 12:30pm. This mobile simulator offers people the opportunity to experience what it’s like to have dementia. It is free of charge and people can drop by anytime during the morning to take part.

A member of the local Dementia Community Support Team will also be available to answer any questions and speak to people about the service they provide for people with and those caring for someone with dementia.

Rochford District Public meeting held by Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex

 

If you live or work in the Rochford District and have an interest in community safety matters come along to a public meeting being held by the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex.

It is taking place on Tuesday, May 28th at The Grange in Little Wheatley Chase, Rayleigh, SS6 9EH between 6.30pm and 8pm.

The meeting was booked for the Civic Suite in Rayleigh but due to the number of people who have expressed an interest in attending, we have switched to a larger venue.
