Statement from Cllr Simon Wootton, Leader, Rochford District Council

Date:
Wednesday, October 6, 2021

Our NHS colleagues have confirmed that as part of their ongoing COVID 19 strategy they will continue working with local vaccination sites lead by GP practices, along with community pharmacies to roll out the vaccine programme.

As such they will no longer require the Mill Arts & Events Centre from the end of October.

I would like to thank NHS colleagues for their incredible hard work these past months in the roll out of thousands of COVID19 vaccinations to the local community.

I am pleased that the Council was able to play its part in this by making the Mill Arts & Events Centre available for this vital service.

The local District remains well served, with Local Testing sites in the car parks at the Freight House in Rochford, Clements Hall in Hockley and The Rayleigh Leisure Centre and our GP practices continuing to deliver vaccinations in both Rochford and Rayleigh.

Cllr Simon Wootton
Leader, Rochford District Council.
