Rochford District Chairman Picks Lucky Car and Holiday Winners in Charity’s National Draw
The Chairman of Rochford District Council, Cllr Mrs Carole Weston, was invited to The Ileostomy and Internal Pouch Support Group’s head office in Rochford to draw the winner in their National Draw – with the top prizes including a brand new car and a £2,000 holiday voucher!
The Ileostomy and Internal Pouch Support Group, which has its head office in West Street, Rochford, gives support to people around the UK who have undergone bowel surgery and are now living with an ileostomy or an internal pouch, their family, friends and carers. The charity has 49 member organisations located across the UK and the Republic of Ireland run by member volunteers, the majority of whom have themselves undergone surgery, and offer support & friendship to those facing the same surgery. The charity is funded via member subscriptions, donations and legacies, so the money raised through selling tickets for the Draw will go a long way to providing support to those who need it.
The Chairman of Rochford District Council, Cllr Mrs Carole Weston, said: “I was delighted when the charity asked me to draw the winning tickets, because not only have the lucky first and second prize winners won a brand new car and a holiday voucher, lots of money has been raised to help people around the UK who have undergone bowel surgery”.
The National Secretary of IA, Jackie King, added: “We are delighted that Cllr Weston agreed to come along to make the draw for us as this event is very special to IA, and is being held to mark our 60th anniversary. On behalf of everyone at IA and all those who benefit from the services we offer we would like to thank everyone involved with the draw for their support”.
