Rayleigh Windmill celebrates history and heritage and invites you to join her final opening of 2019!
Rayleigh Windmill will be joining attractions up and down the country in celebrating England’s fantastic architecture and culture, during Heritage Open Days, this year running between 13 – 22 September. Buildings across the UK of every age, style and function will throw open their doors, giving visitors a chance to discover architectural treasures and enjoy a wide range of tours, events and activities that bring local history and culture to life. Come along this Sunday 22 September when the Rayleigh Windmill will be taking part!
It’s the perfect opportunity to visit before the end of season; the last day we are open for visitors this year will be Sunday 29 September (until opening again in 2020).
Volunteer Coordinator for the Rayleigh Windmill, Trevor Rand, says:
“Our town has had some unfair criticism this week, of which I was shocked to read. Rayleigh has so much to offer our residents, visitors and local economy and to top it all off we have some of the most beautiful buildings in the County.
As a volunteer at the Windmill I feel very fortunate and honoured to share my knowledge about this stunning landmark and the local area. Why not come and along and experience the Rayleigh Windmill and find out more about our amazing local history while supporting Rayleigh’s vibrant town centre!”
