‘Direction to Leave’ notice served on Traveller encampment

A ‘Direction to Leave’ notice has been served this morning on a group of Travellers at the field in Priory Chase next to Rayleigh Leisure Centre, which gives the group 24 hours to vacate the site. If they remain on site after this time an application will be made to the court for a summons.

‘Direction to Leave’ notice to be served on Traveller encampment

Rochford District Council was made aware on the evening of Bank Holiday Monday (August 26) that a group of Travellers had move on to land at Grove Wood public open space, Rayleigh, and were camped there illegally.
