Over 65's Inaugural Mixed Open Golf Tournament @ Rochford Hundred Golf Club
Following an initiative by Golf England to help keep mature golfers extend their competitive playing life Rochford Hundred Golf Club have laid out a new “qualifying green course” making carries from the tees to fairways and hazards more attainable. To celebrate the opening of the new shorter course we are holding an OPEN COMPETITION FULL HANDICAP SINGLES STABLEFORD format to all golfers aged 65 and over with a current playing handicap. This can include married couples and single men and women. Rochford Hundred is a relatively flat parkland course designed by James Braid with some narrow fairways and a few strategically placed obstacles and hazards. The fairways are fantastic, as are the greens. The historic “haunted” clubhouse was once the home of the Boleyn family. The Boleyns owned the home from 1515, a home claimed to be the setting of secret meetings between King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.
All tee times will be from 08.00 to 13.00 approx and coffee on arrival and an afterplay light food platter is included in the value for money entry fee. We hope to make this an annual event and would like to see as many of you as possible playing in this new event. There will be prizes for many different categories so everyone is in with a chance.
Entry forms are available on our website www.rhgc.co.uk. Just click on “Over 65’s Amateur Open”
The website will give you lots of interesting facts regarding the club and its club house (probably the oldest golf clubhouse in the world). We hope that you can come along and enjoy a great round of golf and experience the friendliness of Rochford Hundred Golf Club.
