Our Celebrations

In celebration of 70 years service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth by Her Majesty The Queen, many events will take place across our District in a four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June.

We've put together information, in the Related Content to help you find out about events and celebrations across the District, as well help on how to plan your own.

Queen’s Green Canopy

Elected Members and council staff joined forces to plant 70 trees, to mark the monarch’s 70th year as head of state. The trees will form part of the Queen’s Green Canopy, a project which invites people from across the UK to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’

If you would like to do your own tree planting event for the Queens Jubilee, please see the link in the Related Content section where you can now add your Jubilee tree to The Queen's Green Canopy map.

Her Majesty and The Prince of Wales planted the first Jubilee tree in the grounds of Windsor Castle in March, to mark the launch of the QGC.
