To help residents reduce, re-use and recycle this Easter Rochford District Council’s famous Mascot, ‘Max The Dragon’ has come up with some handy hints and tips.

  • Avoid Easter eggs which are over-packaged with lots of different materials.
  • Ask yourself if the packaging on your Easter eggs can be re-used or recycled.
  • If you are buying flowers, recycle them in your green bin or food waste container.
  • Once you have finished your Easter lunch, remember to reuse any leftover food. For hints and tips visit www.lovefoodhatewaste.com or recycle your food waste in your compostables bin.

Fortunately more packaging can be recycled now than ever before so we can continue to divert as much of this waste from landfill as possible as this time of the year generates more recyclables than normal.

Cardboard boxes, plastic moulds and clean metal foil can all be recycled in your kerbside recyclables bin.
