Images show exciting future for Sweyne Park
These exciting new images show how Sweyne Park will look in the future, with state-of-the-art play equipment designed to challenge both tots and teens.
The improvements have been made possible after Rochford District Council made a successful funding bid to the Enovert Community Trust and were awarded £45,000 to make improvements to the park, in Rayleigh. The Council will provide the additional funds needed to complete the project.
Portfolio holder for the Environment, Cllr Arthur Williams, said: "It’s so exciting to unveil these plans for the future of Sweyne Park, as this play equipment is specifically designed to create an exhilarating experience for children of all ages.
“This is part of a major project which will see up to £1million of investment in playgrounds across the Rochford District. As a Council, we are acutely aware of the importance of encouraging children to pursue healthy lifestyles, and we want to do our utmost to make this possible by providing high quality play spaces. It’s our hope that these play areas will leave a lasting legacy, which local children can enjoy for generations to come.”
In the next financial year, the Council will be investing £700,000 in new play equipment. This will be further boosted by grant funding and contributions from parish councils, which could make the project worth over £1million.
Designs and concepts for the various sites should be ready in March with delivery expected during the 2019/20 financial year.
