Hockley Area Action Plan Adopted
The Rochford District Hockley Area Action Plan was formally adopted by the Council on 25 February 2014 following confirmation from the Planning Inspector conducting the examination that the Plan was sound and legally compliant. The Hockley Area Action Plan (HAAP) will be used to guide appropriate development within the centre of Hockley and direct future public and private investment in the area.

Inspector’s Report
Examination
The Hockley Area Action Plan Submission Document was submitted to the Government for independent examination on 18 April 2013. The Plan has been examined by a Planning Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State.

Submission Document 2012
The Hockley Area Action Plan Submission Document sets out proposed policies for managing and guiding development within the centre of Hockley. This document was consulted on between 29 November 2012 and 25 January 2013.
The Submission Document and other key documents, including the Sustainability Appraisal of the Plan which assesses the potential environmental, economic and social impacts of the options, can be downloaded from the table below:

Options Report 2010
Following the large response to the initial round of community involvement in early 2009 on the production of an Area Action Plan for Hockley, the potential options for the centre of Hockley were revisited.
Potential options were developed and were consulted on between 30 November 2010 and 4 February 2011.

Issues and Options Document 2009
Following initial consultation, including a placecheck event and online consultation, the Council produced an Issues and Options version of the Hockley Area Action Plan. This examined the issues and opportunities for Hockley centre, and suggested potential ways to address these.
The Issues and Options Document was consulted on between 13 February 2009 and 30 April 2009.

Initial Community Involvement 2008
Initial community involvement seeking comments, thoughts and proposals from the local community for enhancing the centre of Hockey was undertaken in 2008. The comments received can be viewed here.
