Rochford District Council’s leisure partner Fusion Lifestyle has confirmed upgrade plans for the leisure centres in the district.

Initial work to replace the equipment at Rayleigh Leisure Centre and Clements Hall Leisure Centre has just taken place and further works will be completed over the next two months.

The redevelopment project will see an investment of over £700,000 and will see brand-new equipment at both leisure centres.

The first work took place at the end of March with new spin bikes installed at both centres.

This will be followed by new gym equipment in June and July.  This will include new Life Fitness cardiovascular machines, fixed weight resistance machines, free weights, and functional training equipment at both centres.

Works will be phased and temporary facilities will be made available to customers during the works to minimise disruption to users.

Anthony Cawley, CEO of Fusion Lifestyle, commented: “We are really pleased to be bringing these improvements to centres in the Rochford district.  We believe in providing quality sport, leisure and fitness facilities to the community and our plans will ensure the centres offer top of the range equipment for many years to come.”

Cllr Mike Webb, portfolio holder for Commercial, Business, Local Economy and Leisure, at Rochford District Council added: “We are committed to providing high-quality leisure facilities to help residents improve their health and wellbeing. We believe these works will ensure residents have access to great equipment that can help them achieve this.”
