Across the nation, events will take place to celebrate the historic Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on Saturday 6th May.
To help residents mark this historic occasion, Rochford District Council is extending free parking in its car parks from 10am on Saturday 6th May
If you're attending an event on Sunday or Monday, don't forget that all carparks owned by Rochford District Council are free on Sundays and Bank holidays, giving you more time to enjoy your street parties and locally organised events within the district.
Portfolio Holder for Environment, Cllr Dave Sperring, said:
“May this small gesture, as an act of good will from the Council, go some way to ensuring that you and your family can celebrate events being held across the District to mark this once in a generation moment, as well as supporting our local businesses.”
PLEASE NOTE - The relaxation in charges applies solely to the Council’s car parks.
Remember, if you're planning a street party and want a road closed, you need to complete a simple application form and email it back to us by Friday 17th March.
