A free event to celebrate the role of the General Practice Nurse throughout Mid and South Essex is taking place at Stock Brook Country Club Banqueting Suite, Billericay, on Sunday, June 2.
The event is specifically for practice nurses, however if you are a student nurse keen to join general practice post qualifying, or a health care assistant keen to undertake nurse training or a return to practice candidate, please email Melanie.Lamb@nhs.net for more information.
The day has been inspired by the General Practice Nurse 10 Point Plan to appreciate and value the day to day work that happens within practices across the Mid and South Essex region.
There will be the opportunity to network with nursing colleagues and hear about future plans for general practice nursing. There will be workshops throughout the day which will cover current and challenging topics affecting practices.
Keynote speakers will include author and mental health campaigner Jonny Benjamin MBE and The Fabulous Finder and inspirational speaker Denise Mortimer. Other workshops will include themes such as Gender and Sexual Diversity and Sexual Health.
Tricia D’Orsi, Chief Nurse for NHS Southend and Castle Point & Rochford CCGs said:
“As a nurse, I feel very passionate about this inaugural event. This event is solely for practice nurses in the Mid and South Essex region and I hope will inspire, celebrate and reward the hard work they put in every day and I’m sure it will be not only rewarding but very well attended”.
