FREE Exhibition Opportunity for Artists / Community Groups

The award-winning Rayleigh Windmill hosts a small museum as well as a self-contained exhibition space on the 2nd floor.

We are offering artists / voluntary community groups the opportunity to use this exhibition space to promote and highlight their work, or the work of their organisation.

The Windmill will be open for the season from the beginning of April until September 2020 and will be opening on Wednesdays from 10am until 1pm, as well as Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm until 4pm.

Each year the Windmill welcomes thousands of visitors from the local area.

There is no charge to utilise this exhibition opportunity and will provide promotion of your work within the local community. Artists / groups would be allocated a 3-4 week period to use this exhibition space during the season.

Additionally, those using the exhibition opportunity will need to be present at the Windmill with their work throughout the entirety of the Windmill opening times.

The deadline for expressing an interest in this opportunity is 10am on Friday 17th of January.

Please email using this form and answer the following questions:

  • How do you propose to use the exhibition space?
  • How will you engage with the public and visitors to the Windmill?
  • How will you make your exhibition accessible to all ages (bearing in mind the Windmill is frequently visited by families with small children)?
  • Are you or a member of your group able to ‘staff’ the exhibition when the Windmill is open?

Potential exhibitors will be invited to view the exhibition space on Friday the 31st of January 2020 at 15:00. Invites will be sent on Friday the 24th of January.
