During the Covid-19 pandemic Rochford District Council ensured that free off-street car parking was available in all its Pay & Display car parks to on duty NHS staff members, health or social care workers, and NHS Volunteers. As the government are set to ease Covid restrictions by 19 July 2021, the emergency parking pass will no longer be acceptable within the council car parks.

However, whilst the Covid-19 parking pass expires by 19 July 2021, the Council will continue to provide volunteer parking passes which offers free parking to NHS volunteers whilst undertaking their voluntary duties at the NHS vaccination centres.

Rochford District Council’s Portfolio Holder for IT, Tourism, Housing and Parking, Cllr Mr. Daniel Efde, said: “Whilst the Covid-19 parking pass will no longer be valid from 19 July 2021, we acknowledge the vital role our volunteers continue to provide, we are delighted to announce that the Council will continue to offer free parking to our health care heroes, whilst volunteering at our local vaccination centres.”

The pass will be valid for 6 months from 19 July 2021 and will be reviewed every 6 months.
