This summer Rochford District Council is organising Wild Woods Week, a week of fun activities aimed at primary school aged children in Hockley Woods.

Wild Woods Week will run between 10am and 1pm each day from Monday 25 July until Friday 29 July.

The programme includes lots of different activities with no two days the same. From fencing, soft archery and geocaching to a smoothie bike, treasure hunt and arts & crafts. Various community partners will also be present including Fusion Lifestyle, Rayleigh, Rochford and District Association for Voluntary Service (RRAVS) and the Megacentre, Rayleigh.

Cllr Mike Webb, Rochford District Council’s portfolio holder for Housing, Assets and Leisure, said:

“We are delighted to be running Wild Woods Week at the beginning of the school summer holidays and providing a range of fun activities across the five days. The week will also provide the opportunity to meet some of our valued community partners as well as explore the ancient woodlands.”

The full programme for the week is available on the Wild Woods Week page.

Attendance at the event will cost £5 per child per day and must be pre-booked.
