Rochford District Council statement on Fountains

Posted on 24 January 2012 by admin

Yesterday (23rd January 2012) Rochford District Council received notification that Fountains, the contractor which performs a range of grounds maintenance services on our behalf, will no longer be carrying these out.

Cherry Orchard Country ParkFountains were the Council’s contractors who provided the following services on our behalf:

  • Maintenance of cemeteries
  • Pavilions and sports pitch maintenance
  • Emptying of dog and litter bins in our open spaces
  • Maintenance of public open spaces and highway verges
  • Maintenance and weekly checks of play areas.

Rochford District Council’s Head of Environmental Services, Richard Evans, said: “Since we were informed that Fountains would no longer be carrying out their services on our behalf we have been implementing the plan we have in place to ensure there is minimal disruption to services.

We are now in a position to say that, in the short term, we have ensured there is appropriate cover in place so that all the services Fountains used to provide will carry on as normal with no disruption.”
