Sweyne Park student, Matthew Terry is the first lucky winner of £25 of Love2shop high street vouchers.
Matthew, a Year 8 student at the school won the vouchers after his name was picked out of a prize draw of those who had signed up to the scheme, which is available for young people across the District.
The new pilot aimed at improving access to services is an initiative set up by Rochford District Council which allows the Council to contact young people via a free mobile phone text messaging service.
The Council has been sending text alerts to all those who have registered containing information about events, such as this years Wild Woods Day on 5 June and services which young people have said they want to hear more about.
A second prize draw of £25 of Love2shop vouchers is due to take place in mid June. All young people between 11 and 19 years old who visit the website and sign up for the service within this time will be automatically entered into a prize draw for a £25 Love2Shop voucher.
