Rayleigh, Rochford & Castle Point Talking Newspaper (RRCPTN) are appealing to local organisations to help them recycle their CDs.
RRCPTN provide audio recordings of local news and information on CDs or cassettes. The service is free to people who are blind, partially sighted or simply find reading difficult.
Rewritable CDs are expensive, so they use non-rewritable CDs which are cheap when bought in bulk. The CDs can be kept after use, but most listeners return them.
This means they have quite a few CDs to dispose of each month. The organisation doesn’t want to send them to landfill and is appealing to anyone who may be able to help.
If you know a local organisation that can recycle CDs, or perhaps a school that could use some for special projects, call Janet Berry (Chairman) of RRCPTN on 01702 541410.
