Rochford District Council’s Revenues and Benefits department has been given the highest accolade possible by the Government for its customer service.
The Revenues and Benefits team has once again successfully retained its Charter Mark status, given in recognition of the excellent service it provides to its customers.
The Government’s nationally recognised Charter Mark standard was first awarded to Revenues and Benefits in 2008.
For the team to retain the Charter Mark, it had to undergo a rigorous inspection by an external assessor for which it received full marks in every criteria. The service was praised for its continuous hard work, the enthusiasm of the whole team and the fact that it remained committed to the Charter Mark ethos.
The assessment focused on the performance of the Revenues and Benefits Team and their effectiveness at consulting and communicating with its customers.
Rochford District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Council Tax Collection, Benefits and Strategic Housing Functions, Councillor Mrs Tracy Capon said: “I’m delighted our Revenues and Benefits team has retained the Charter Mark status. It emphasises how important the customer is and it just goes to show that officers are willing to go the extra mile to make their experience of using the service a pleasant one. Although we have received top marks in this assessment we will continue to raise our standards to ensure our customers receive the service they want and deserve”.
