A Christmas Message from the Chairman

Posted on 16 December 2009 by admin

Christmas is fast approaching and as usual it provides a wonderful opportunity for me to say thank you to all those voluntary groups and others who have made my Chairman’s role such a rewarding experience.

cllr_hOver the last six months, my wife Eunice and myself have, in accordance with your invitations, enjoyed attending our local schools, churches, infant and junior activities, youth clubs and events.

I am always conscious of the demands for your help and aware of the many fund raising activities you undertake in order to produce such good results for your cause.

I applaud and congratulate you all.

The District Council runs a ‘Citizen of the Year’ award scheme. Somewhere out there is a person who deserves to be recognised as the award winner. Young or old, it could be you, a family member or acquaintance. Please send in your nominations.

We now look forward to Christmas, the opportunities it brings and to meeting more of you at this festive time.

In fact it’s an ideal moment to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year.

Councillor Tony Humphries
Chairman of the Council
