Confused putting up a curtain rail? Dazed fixing a door chain? Left in the dark changing a light bulb?

handyman-2If you are over 60 or disabled or on a limited income and live in the Rochford District then the Handyperson service could be for you.

Springboard’s Handyperson service can help with all sorts of jobs around the home, from home safety checks, putting up smoke detectors or fitting door chains the Handyperson can help with these little jobs, and lots more besides.

The Handyperson is available for all sorts of different jobs at a cost of £6 an hour and is proving to be a national treasure amongst the residents of the Rochford District.

Mr and Mrs Clee who have used the service for more than four years said: “To pay for a tradesman would be very expensive, this way you get the same job done to the same standard at a much more reasonable cost. All we have to do
is ring Springboard and supply the materials and the rest is done for us”

The Handyperson service is sponsored by Rochford District Council, Essex County Council Social Services and Rochford District Crime Reduction Partnership with the aim of helping those who need it the most.

In addition to this a gardening service is also available for help with overgrown weeds and general maintenance.
