Environmental Health Poster competition

Rochford District Council’s Environmental Health department ran a poster competition for schools to support National Food Safety Week which ran from 15th – 21st June 2009.

The competition promoted the benefits of healthy eating and the benefits of not smoking. 

Rayleigh Primary School pupils Kayley Wooller and Lauren Hahn both aged 11 designed the winning healthy eating poster while Bryony Dell aged 12 from The King Edmund School in Rochford designed the winning poster promoting the benefits of not smoking. 

Rochford District Council Chairman Councillor Tony Humphries presented the winners with their prizes. Councillor Humphries said “It is really encouraging to see the work that went into all these entries and even more so as healthy eating and not smoking are really important messages to get across”. 

The winners received a £30 voucher for themselves, a certificate and also £120 for their school.
