An excellent day was had by all the 1000 plus visitors to Wild Woods Day in Hockley Woods on Saturday 6th June.
This is the sixth year in a row that the event has been held and this year the day included archery, falconry, a climbing wall, bowling, nature walks, a woodland elf, and advice on recycling and animal welfare.
All activities were free of charge and the event focused around healthy lifestyles and enjoying being in the outside environment.
Sports Development Officer Mark Aldous from Rochford District Council’s Leisure Services said “It was fantastic to see so many people come out and enjoy Wild Woods Day and the event is growing year on year. Everyone enjoyed the activities as well as learning more about the environment and healthy lifestyles”.
