Supplementary Planning Documents
Rochford District Council is preparing a number of Supplementary
Planning Documents (SPDs) as part of the Local Development
Framework or LDF. Many of these have already been adopted but
additional SPDs are being prepared to aid decision making. The
purpose of SPDs is provide additional advice and guidance in the
determination of planning applications.
Adopted SPDs
A number of SPDs were adopted on 11th January 2007 and came into
effect on 5th February 2007. These are as follows:
SPD1 - Educational Contributions
SPD2 - Housing Design
SPD3 - Playing Pitch Strategy
SPD4 - Shop Fronts Security and Design
SPD6 - Design Guidelines for Conservation
Areas
SPD7 - Design, Landscaping and Access
Statements
SPD8 - Rural Settlement Areas
The following SPD was adopted on 17th December 2010, and
replaces SPD5 - Vehicle Parking Standards:

Emerging SPDs
The adopted SPDs are being reviewed and updated as part of the
preparation of the Council’s LDF, and the SPDs may therefore be
subject to change during this time to ensure that they are in
accordance with the documents forming the LDF.

Planning Policy team to support the policies in the LDF, these
