Star Lane Brickworks planning application

The Council has received a planning application from Inner London Developments (Wakering) Ltd. for the development of the Star Lane Brickworks site. The site is to the south of Star Lane Industrial Estate and to the east of Star Lane.

The proposal includes:

  • Construction of 121 new houses (2 and 3 storey comprising 35 x 2-bedroom units, 26 x 3-bedroom units and 60 x 4-bedroom units)
  • Construction of 15 flats within an apartment block (2 and 3 storey block comprising 6 x 1-bedroom units and 9 x 2-bedroomed units)
  • Construction of 4 x 2-bedroomed Flat Over Ground (FOG) units
  • Associated landscaping, car parking, roads and access onto Star Lane
  • Construction of sub station

The scale of the proposed development is such that the application constitutes major development. Consequently the period of consideration of this application is 13 weeks and the application will go to a Development Committee for determination. Once a date for consideration of the application at a Development Committee has been decided, details will be published on the website.

Revised Scheme

The Council has received revised drawings and documents for the development of the Star Lane Brickworks site under the pending planning application Ref: 12/00252/FUL

The revised scheme amends the proposal. The scheme now proposes the following:

  • Construction of 103 new houses (2 and 3 storey comprising 21 x 2-bedroom units, 48 x 3-bedroom units and 34 x 4-bedroom units)
  • Construction of 8 flats within an apartment block (2 storey block comprising 4 x 1-bedroom units and 4 x 2-bedroomed units)
  • Construction of 5 Flat Over Ground (FOG) units (comprising 2 x 1-bedroom units and 3 x 2-bedroomed units)
  • Associated landscaping, open space, car parking, roads and access onto Star Lane
  • Construction of sub station

Amended Drawings

The Council has received amended drawings for the development of the Star Lane Brickworks site under the pending application Ref: 12/00252/FUL. These show minor layout and design changes with a slight change in housing mix (22 x 2- bedroomed units and 47 x 3-bedroomed units now proposed) but with no change to the total quantity of dwellings proposed which remains at 116.

This application was considered by Councillors at the Development Committee meeting on 5th June 2014.

Further Amended Drawings

The Council has received amended drawings for the development of the Star Lane Brickworks site under the pending application Ref: 12/00252/FUL. The applicant for this application is now Taylor Wimpey East London. The amended drawings show layout alterations and changes to the house type elevations with a slight change in housing mix (7no. One Bedroomed Flats, 6no. Two Bedroomed Flats, 24no. Two Bedroomed Houses, 44no. Three Bedroomed Houses And 35no. Four Bedroomed Houses) but with no change to the total quantity of dwellings proposed which remains at 116.

This application will be considered by Councillors at the Development Committee meeting on 25th September 2014.
