to before 1181 when it was inscribed in the Exchequer Records of
Henry II.
Rochford Market
A market is held every Tuesday in Market Square and is an ideal
time to visit Rochford to take in its hustle and bustle. This
market is one of the oldest in existence and begun in 1247 when The
Lord of the Manor, Sir Guy de Rocheforte was granted a charter to
hold a weekly market.

Rochford Farmers' Market
The Star Partnership runs a farmers Market on the first Saturday
of each month from March to November, 9.30am to 12.30pm in the
Women's Institute Hall, Rochford.
A wide variety of seasonal produce is on offer, all from local
producers.
