Disabled Facilities Grant

A disabled facilities grant is a mandatory grant, which is used to provide adaptations such as graded floor showers, grab rails and stairlifts, in order to enable/facilitate independent living, privacy and confidence for individuals and their families.

The process requires an assessment by an Occupational Therapist (OT) from Social Services, to determine the adaptations needed. A referral is then made to the council, advising of the necessary works. The council will then carryout an initial test of resources (means test), using the form below to determine whether or not a contribution will be necessary towards the cost of the works.

To arrange an assessment by an Occupational Therapist please contact Social Services direct on: 0845 603 7630.
