Housing Advice and Strategy
The Housing Strategy Team works closely with other agencies
including Registered Social Landlords and the private sector to
develop new initiatives and to tailor existing services to meet
housing need. Their responsibilities include producing the Housing
Strategy and the Housing Needs Survey and contributing towards
sub-regional work including the Thames Gateway South Essex
Partnership and reviewing current policies and strategies.
The Council has a duty to provide housing advice to all
residents and people working in the District. The service offers
confidential advice on a range of housing options.
Rochford Council maintains a housing register of applicants who
wish to be considered for social housing within the District.
However, we make prevention a priority. You may face a lengthy wait
on the housing register before you are nominated for a property so
we will do all we can to help you keep your accommodation to ensure
that you do not become homeless in the meantime.
