Recycling collections for schools

In Rochford we believe that education is the key to improving our environment and with over 30 schools in the District we have a lot of opportunities to spread the word!

We have completed the initial roll- out of recycling facilities for schools. Schools are offered the possibility to have collections of paper, glass bottles and jars and cans or any combination of these. All schools that initially contacted Recycling to request recycling collections have now had their collections set up.

Essex County Council Waste Education

The Waste Education Team provide a range of free Waste Education Programmes and resources designed to raise understanding and awareness of waste management issues and the 3Rs - reduce, reuse and recycle - for Essex schools.

The Yellow Woods Challenge

Schools are also able to participate in the Yellow Woods Challenge for the chance to win prizes through recycling Yellow Pages.
