Reusable Nappies
All Local Authorities in Essex support the Reusable Nappy
Campaign. It aims to encourage people to choose reusable nappies
over disposables.
We have a goal to reduce the amount of non-recyclables we are
sending for final disposal, and to reduce, reuse and recycle as
much as possible. Landfill space is running out, and yet it remains
the main method of disposal for Essex.
Reusable nappies are often not considered to be a viable option
for most people with busy lives, but there are options that make it
easier.
You could purchase reusable nappies, and launder them yourself.
Alternatively, you could pay for a nappy laundering service. They
will provide you with the reusable nappies, and a nappy bin to
store dirty nappies. The laundry service will collect dirty nappies
when they deliver clean ones.
