Bulky Waste and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment)
The charges for the collection of bulky waste (household
furniture) and electrical household items, are as follows:
- Up to 3 items £15
- Then £5 per additional item for items booked at the same
time
All items must be booked at the same time.
Please note, bulky waste collections do not take place on
Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, Good Friday and August
Bank Holidays.
The furniture collected under the bulky waste scheme will be
taken to landfill, so please consider whether the items can be
reused before you book a collection. If items are in good
condition, then you may wish to consider contacting a
charity shop, some of whom may be able to collect.
Please check with your local charity shops before you take any

Alternatively, there are a number of organisations which reuse
your old or unwanted items; these can be found in the related links
at the bottom of the page.
If you are unable to reuse your item and wish to arrange
collection and payment please call Customer Services on 01702
318111 during the hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Thursday and
8:30am to 4:30pm on Fridays.
Additionally, payment can be made by cheque (made payable to
‘Rochford District Council’) and by cash at the Council Offices in
South Street, Rochford and the Civic Suite, Hockley Road,
Rayleigh.
It is not
currently possible to arrange a bulky items collection via our
online forms.
Payments are to be made to Rochford District Council only.
Collections are made on your normal collection day; however
collections need to be booked at least 4 days beforehand.
Please note that after a payment has been made, there are no
refunds if you choose to cancel.
