Pest Control
Most pests are harmless and can often be dealt with by using
humane traps or products available from DIY stores, garden centres
and supermarkets.
We have a range of pest control advice leaflets which will soon
be available to download from the Related Documents section below.
These give some general advice on the most common pest problems. We
also have advice leaflets on some common garden visitors like
badgers and foxes.
If you have an on-going problem you may need the help of a
specialist. Our pest control contractor can deal with specific pest
problems using a range of treatments that are not available to the
general public.
Booking an appointment
We have negotiated a reduced charge for residents who pay
council tax to Rochford District Council, for treatment of the
following pests in domestic premises only (this does not include
shared areas like entrance halls or stairways in premises like
flats or residential homes, or shared garden areas).
Bed bugs, bees, cockroaches, cluster flies, fleas, mice, rats,
wasps.

Rats and mice
If you are a resident of Rochford District Council, treatments
are available at a reduced rate for rats and mice, and you can book
your appointment for treatment with us. (Please see the table below
for a list of charges)
Our service does not include shared areas like entrance halls or
stairways in premises like flats or residential homes, or shared
garden areas.
