Animal Nuisances
Noise
If you are being troubled by noise cause by an animal, for
example a neighbours constantly barking dog or their pet cockerel
crowing, in the first instance, it may be advisable to speak to
your neighbour, - they may not be aware of the problem, - to give
them the chance to resolve the situation.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs have a
very informative leaflet that can offer helpful tips on how to stop
constant barking. This leaflet can be found in the Related
Documents at the bottom of this page.
However, if the problem persists you can contact the
Environmental Protection unit by telephoning 01702 318111 or
emailing environmental.health@rochford.gov.uk where an officer may
be able to give you further advice and assistance.
Odour and Pests
Similarly if you are troubled by odour or pests (e.g. flies,
mice etc.) caused by animals being kept on a neighbouring property
where the animals food or waste is not being properly managed, you
can contact the Environmental Protection Unit on 01702 318045 or by
emailing environmental.health@rochford.gov.uk where an officer will
again be able to offer you further advice and assistance.
