Second Adult Rebate
If your income is too high for Council Tax Benefit, you still
may be able to receive up to 25% off your personal bill if someone
sharing your home is on a low income. To qualify people sharing
your home must not be:
- Your partner (married or unmarried).
- Under 18.
- Paying rent.
- Liable for the Council Tax.
- A joint owner or joint tenant.
- Already disregarded for a discount on your Council Tax
bill.
You cannot receive both Council Tax Benefit and Second Adult
Rebate. However, we will work out both of them and award the one
that will reduce your bill the most.
Who should claim second adult rebate?
The person who receives the Council Tax bill, not the second
adult.
