Central Area Committee
The Central Area Committee covers Hawkwell, Hockley and
Hullbridge. It comprises all the District Councillors in the
Hawkwell North, Hawkwell South, Hawkwell West, Hockley Central,
Hockley North, Hockley West and Hullbridge Wards together with
representatives from the Parish Councils, the Police and Essex
County Council. The Chairman is Cllr Mrs L M
Cox. The Committee meets approximately every six weeks
at different venues within the area and considers specific local
issues on subjects such as community safety and the
environment.
A feature of meetings is the community forum at which Councillors
can hear questions and issues raised by members of the public. It
can refer issues to the Council's Executive.
