Community Risk Register
The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 places a legal duty on local
authorities to undertake risk assessments, maintain them in a
Community Risk Register, and publish this register.
As part of the Essex wide arrangements for emergency planning,
Rochford District Council has worked with Essex County Council, all
other local authorities and the emergency services to produce the
Community Risk Register.
Risks in this context are those that could result in a major
emergency. The Community Risk Register is the first step in
improving the emergency process. It ensures that the plans we
develop are proportionate to the risks.
This is an ongoing process and as such the contents will be updated
annually and whenever information about new risks or revisions to
existing risks becomes available.
