Dangerous Wild Animals
The Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976 regulates the keeping of
certain kinds of animals. The Act does not apply to zoos, circuses,
pet shops or to registered establishments for carrying out animal
experiments, but, with those exceptions, it is an offence to keep
any animal of a kind listed in the schedule of the Act without a
licence from the Local Authority.
All keepers of licenced Dangerous Wild Animals must comply
with Rochford District Councils standard conditions for Dangerous
Wild Animals and may be subject to additional conditions as
specified by the council.
