How can I pay my Business Rates?
By Direct Debit
Direct Debit is the easy way to make payments. You can pay by 1,
2, 10 or 12 instalments and choose to pay on the 1st 10th or 20th
of each month. If you want to pay by direct debit phone us on 01702
318017 with your bank details or download a direct debit
instruction from the related documents at the bottom of the page,
and send it to;

South Street,
Essex SS4 1BW.
Please note that if your bank account requires more than
one signatory we cannot take your details over the phone as we need
a signed instruction.
You will always be notified at least 14 days in advance of any
changes made to your account under the terms of the Direct Debit
guarantee.
The Direct Debit Guarantee
- This guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies
that accept instructions to
pay Direct Debits.
- If there are any changes to
the amount, date of frequency of your Direct Debit, Rochford
District Council will notify you 14 days in advance of your account
being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Rochford
District Council to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount
and date will be given at the time of the
request.
- If an error is made in
the payment of your Direct Debit, by Rochford District Council or
your bank or building society you are entitled to a full and
immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building
society.
- If you receive a refund you
are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Rochford District
Council asks you to.
- You can cancel a Direct Debit
at any time by simply contacting your bank or building
society. Written confirmation may be required. Please
also notify Rochford District Council.
By Debit of Credit Card
Payments can be made online via the related link at the bottom
of the page or over the phone on 01702 318019. Please have your
business rate account number and card details ready. There is a 2%
surcharge for personal credit cards and a 3% surcharge for
commercial credit cards. There is no surcharge for debit card
payments.
By Internet Banking/BACS
You can arrange for your bank to transfer funds directly from
your bank account to Rochford District Council's bank account each
month.

Please allow at least 4 working days for payments to reach your

By Post
Make cheques payable to "Rochford District Council". Please
write your business rates account number and address on the back
and send your cheque to Council Office, South Street, Rochford,
Essex SS4 1BW.
Receipts will not normally be issued for cheque payments.
Post dated cheques are not accepted. The Council will not be
held responsible for any financial loss incurred by you, arising
from early presentation of such cheques.
Please do not send cash through the post.
Into the Automatic Teller Machines
You can pay cash or cheques into the automatic teller machines
which are located in the Council Offices in Rochford and in the
Civic Suite, 2 Hockley Road, Rayleigh Essex SS6 8EB.
